A pop up shop done in collaboration with women and girls from self help group, Semaliya village. As an introduction when we went to meet the women in their environment.
I was inspired by their everyday objects, interiors and the soul of the village. These women were already involved into recycling of old saris by making rugs for household purpose. This turned out to be a connecting thread between me
and them. I introduced them to my textile work and talked about the different possibilities of working together and its benefits for the community.
I established an everyday practice for two weeks in order to create the Paris-Partapur shop. Each workshop of three hours gave the opportunity to the women to revisit, experiment and learn textile techniques of weaving , knitting, sewing and to produce a range of interiors products during the second week.
